an emulator `` is forever lodged in my ds lite, considering it takes so many tries for the system to stomach it again after it is taken out, & i'm not up to spoodfeeding it until it finally keeps the pirated contents down. ``````` this emulator features some very ` good games - most of which coming with a catch, like deleting your savefile after playing a different game, ```````` or corrupting the save for no reason - but one of it's most charming games is petz bunnyz.

now, bunnyz isn't charming in the same way that `````` endlessly roaming outside of princess peach's castle in mario 64 ds is.` it has it's own version of charm, one that includes a lot of jank... in a pet simulator, giving digital affection to your animal is one of the most fundamental things you can do. bunnyz heavily implies that you can pet & brush your bunny, ``` a floating hand appearing as you tap down your stylus to stroke the thing, ```` which recoils & becomes upset as it thinks you are poking it. ` with this essential part of gameplay tauntingly missing, ```` you are left to your own devices.

there is something very grave about the lack of things to do in this game, to the point where it has caused me to come up with 'hidden secrets' `that don't truly exist. you can take your bunny out of it's cage into your rather quaint virtual room, & holding it in your palm, you can guide it to ` high places such as your bed. `` i have always been enraptured with a specific texture behind a chair in the room, thinking it was a door leading to a set of stairs, even though, through harder speculation, it is simply a wooden border aligning the walls. the illusion is present in the righthand image.

but the itch for new areas is cureable, `` as there is a possibility to unlock new cages for your bunny. the crypticism about these is prominent on the internet, `````` only being mentioned on assorted forums with no pictures. on a savefile of mine, deleted a few years back, ` i had obtained a bigger, colourful & clownish cage. in my current savefile, `` i got a steel themed cage, but my cursed emulator decided to corrupt that data !

strangely, i managed to find a screenshot of it from the only hint of ost on youtube. in fact, it's a remix of the steel cage's theme, made by rhymelie.

the soundtrack to this game is endearing. it is soft & accordion-like with a digital touch. ````` the sound effects are pleasing, like the weird modified whining noise that plays whenever you select a 'no' or 'back' option.

outside of your bunny's overworld, there are minigames to be played. ign words them as being 'summoned forth at the bunny's whim.' `` a little box appears on the screen as if the bunny has cast a spell for them to show up, sparkles & all. your bunny is an immortal entity, but it still likes care, ` so you get things to feed it with from these games, like dandelion & mineral water. the toys & accesories you can also win from these games `` tend to feel like ancient artifacts with their descriptions in butchered ```` english.

you can also speak to your bunny, ` who seems to have the best sense of english grammar over anything else in this game. it will ask you, "what's your blood type ?" to genuinely pleasant things, "aren't spring nights like these so peaceful ?" ````` this makes the bunny feel a bit like one of those desktop helpers that have a virus attatched to them.

overall, ``` it strikes something in me, ````` but only when `````` i use my imagination ( dlc / downloadable content ) to pretend there's ` something stuck inside & haunting it. ```` for real, though, this game is diggable. the crude 3d models for the ds, `low budget wizardry, `` & how it causes you to wanna take a nap are all enjoyable, & as i said, `secrete a janky charm. i'll leave off with a review ` from an online buyer. `````````` "the cartridge was covered in sticky gunk. disgusting. `i knew it was used, but that was too much for me. ended up in the trash before i played it."
